One thing I am learning as we undergo the construction of our forever home is PATIENCE!! We expected the foundation to be completed in September. As it turns out, the subcontractor had some issues that delayed the work and it didn’t get started until October. However, as we enter November, most of the foundation work (including plumbing lines) has been completed. The next step is for a concrete slap to be poured. It’s exciting to look at the footprint and get a sense of the home’s layout and size. Our next door neighbor’s lot is slightly ahead of ours but both homes are being build by the same General Contractor concurrently. Our contractor states that we should be in by Easter. So now we enter the holiday travel period. We’ll be traveling to Connecticut to visit my Mother In-Law for Thanksgiving and she’ll be coming to Georgia for Christmas. Tentatively, we’ll be in Nashville, Tennessee for New Year. My first 90 days on the new job has gone exceedingly well and I am enjoying the new role. That’s all for now! I’ll check in and post pictures when framing begins!
Construction is underway!
