The month of January has proven to be pivotal to the progress towards getting our forever home completed! Since my last post, electrical has started and should be finished by month’s end. The roof has been shingled and board and batten applied. HVAC ducting has also been completed. Our humongous pivot door arrived on 1/26 and should be installed next week. We are finalizing furniture selection and are in the process of identifying a custom cabinet fabricator. Finding a cabinet manufacturer has proven to be challenging as the sub our general contactor wants to use is extremely busy! Apparently there’s currently a huge demand and he’s having difficulty finding time to meet with us. We’ve identified another alternative who we are very excited about. We’re cautiously optimistic that we’ll get this item nailed down. Our general contractor is indicating we’re 6 weeks out from needing them. After electical is finished and inspected, insulation will go in and dry wall installation will be next. I’m starting to feel like a kid waiting for Christmas! It seems like it’s never going to be Christmas morning! I know that the reality is that it won’t be long before I’m looking at what Ken and I have accomplished and pinching myself. In the meantime, working in Savannah has been very fruitful and I’m enjoying my job. I am also looking at opportunities with the City of Savannah! We are 60 – 90 days away from being completed and words can’t describe how excited I am about this!
We’re about half-way there!
