A few weeks ago, I thought we were in the final 60 days of our dream home project. However, upon consultation with our general contractor, we learned that he estimates an early June completion, or 90 days. I have tried not to get fixated on a date because when that doesn’t happen, it leads to disappointment. Instead, I’m choosing to focus on the fact that we’ve cleared so many hurdles and haven’t had any major issues with this build. So far, the only difficulty we’re encountering is finding someone to fabricate our cabinets. We’ve accepted that this line item is going to exceed what we budgeted and it may be necessary to forego some wish list items (e.g. hot tub). Right now, we’re in that phase where alot of what gets done seems unremarkable. The well should be going in this week or next. The drywall is wrapping up and interior painting will take place next. Electrical finishing will take place after this. Exterior painting should also be taking place in the next 2 weeks. Interior trim work should also be taking place. Installation of hardwood floors happens in about 3 weeks. March is going to be a pivotal month and once we move into April, we should be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!
