This past weekend was monumental as our flooring installation was completed in less than the expected full week! We decided to head to St. Simons on Saturday, June 15 to get some beach time in. We also needed to take some things to the house and we were excited about seeing the progress of the flooring. Much to our suprise, the contractor had finished installation! We had the flooring laid diagonally in the great room, Ken’s office, and traditional layout in the rest of the house. We had planned to carpet the guest bedrooms, but we had enough flooring on hand to do the entire house so we went with that option which means the carpet allocation can be spent someplace else! The flooring looks wonderful! We were very pleased with the choice we made and we think moving away from our original cocoa color was a wise decision. Landscaping should continue this week and we are anticipating a meeting with our cabinet contractor to see when that aspect of the build will be finished. By the way, the excursion to St. Simons was much needed! It was hot, but we went around 3:30 in the afternoon and the heat was tolerable. We ended the day with a seafood dinner and a good night’s sleep!
