The sod is really looking good after 7 days! I was a little skeptical at first because there were some patches that were entirely brown. The sprinkler system is doing it’s job and is regularly watering the entire property in zones throughout the day. The picure above is what the yard on the side of the house looked like as of 7/4/24. A week ago, it was brown! Our contractor said that once the sod starts rooting, it would “green up”. I’m relieved to see that he was right! The sod that the landscaper installed is Empire Zoysia https://empirezoysia.com/. I’ll confess that I am completely ignorant about sod and the implications of selecting certain varieties over another. time. We were advised that freshly installed sod needs at least a month to establish itself. So it will be interesting to see what everything looks like at the end of July. Paddock fencing is going in this weekend and our Ipe wood front steps should be getting installed as well. I am in the process of looking for moving companies so the details of our move can be finalized.
