The countertops are in!

Another pivotal event took place 7/9/24. The countertop installation took place! The counterop install took place with counters going into the bathrooms, pantry, and kitchen. Ken and I were on hand to watch and make sure it went according to our specifications. Our installer, Luke, was outstanding. He made sure everything went smoothly and we learned that installing quartz counters isn’t as easy as you’d thing what with holes needing to be cut onsite and some on the spot templating for areas with outlets and the pot filler. We also learned that quartz may ultimately be banned (it already is in California) due to the health hazards of silica dust! Overall, I think it looks good although not seeing the pattern on the edges may not be for everyone. I’m very happy with my massive 10 food island! I can’t wait to see the appliances in place! Interior painting was taking place and our exterior brick steps were being installed off the patio. Our front step installation starts today and the plumber will install and connect the sinks and tankless hot water heater. The next major hurdle is completing the cabinets. Our contractor has assured us we will be in by 7/26 as well as having our certifice of occupany by our 8/9 due date with our bank.
