We are back in Dublin after several days at the house getting some things done in preparation for wrapping up the build on our dream home! We installed LED lighting on our feature wall shelving and our cabinet fabricator installed them yesterday. The feature wall is stunning! We still haven’t solved the conundrum of the wall mounted toilets, but our GC installed a reinforcing wood plank support that we hope will stabilize them so we can put that issue to rest. Electrical is 99% finished and we expect them to be completely finished on 7/26. The only unfinished item is our cabinet doors. Our fabricator expects to install on 7/30 or 8/1 so we’ll have to endure a few days in the house without our doors, but this won’t be a big deal. Today, 7/25, we are back in Dublin and will finish up packing for tomorrow’s scheduled U-Haul load up. I left my car at the house in Savannah as I will be driving the U-Haul truck. We are also in receipt of our certificat of occupancy (CO). The CO is required by the bank to close out the construction loan and convert us to a conventional mortgage. Today, the cleaners will be doing a top to bottom clean up and touch up painting will be done. It’s hard to believe that on Saturday, I’ll be waking up to the new house in Savannah!
