One Month In

We moved into our dream home 28 days ago. It’s starting to feel like home! After going through the grueling process of getting boxes emptied and finind a place for everything, it’s starting to feel like somewhere we live as opposed to someplace foreign. My baby Sister was our first guest. She came up to spend my Birthday weekend with me (August 18th I turned 65!). She gave us great feedback about the guest quarters and we’re happy with the choices we made (although the shower has no provision for leg shaving!) Three HVAC zones give us the ability to control the temperature according to our guest’s preferences while mainting our comfort in the Primary Suite. The garage is still serving as temporary storage but we’re making progress with getting it cleared out. I am in the process of securing a good housekeeper. Through NextDoor I discovered several that came out and gave quotes that were too high for our budget. Today, 8/22 Jess Cleans the Mess will be coming to clean and her fee is what I was paying in Atlanta https://jesscleansthemess.com/ I’m cautiously optimistic that she’s going to work out! My friend Alice and her Newphew who I used to babysit when I lived in Baltimore, Maryland will be arriving today from Baltimore to spend a few days with us. We were very close when I lived there. The distance and the fact that I have no reason to visit Baltimore since I sold my old house have made seeing each other rare. I’m glad they have the opportunity to come and re-connect. Next week we’ll have another guest coming through. We are still waiing on our dining room table and a dresser for the primary bedroom. We purchased a swivel seat to add to the living room. We’re very happy with how the decor has turned out!
