Does it feel like home?

Now that we have been in our new home for close to 45 days, we are frequently asked the question “Does it feel like home yet?” I can say without equivocation that yes, it does feel like home to me! Ken on the other hand isn’t there yet. We have hosted guests for the past 3 weeks so we really haven’t had the house exclusively to ourselves. I have established a routine. I love sitting on the front porch early in the morning with my coffee watching the sprinklers run and hearing the early morning sounds of nature. I have gone from a 1 1/2 hour drive to work to a 15 minute drive. I also have a grocery shopping routine so I’m feeling more rooted to our new life. My first couple of nights sleeping here were strange, but now that we have all of our furniture in place, pictures hung, and most of the boxes unpacked, it defintely feels like home to me. Ken is still working on the techonology aspect of things. Our home theater is set up in the living room and some sensors are operable so lights and exhaust fans come on when using the bathroom. My kitchen television and undercabinet lighting is installed. We still need to install the kickplate lighting on the island. The outdoor path lights will be going in today, September 6th which is our 9th anniversary! We’ll be celebrating this evening at our favorite local restaurant, The Steakhouse on Whitmarsh https://thesteakhousewhitemarsh.com/ This will be only the second weekend since we moved in that we’ll have the house to ourselves. I’m looking forward to spending some quiet time just relaxing and hopefully making some more progress on getting the garage emptied out so we can park our cars there!
