Savannah Sights

This past weekend we had excellent weather and decided to get out and see something of interest in Savannah. We decided to check out the Wormsloe Historial Site https://gastateparks.org/wormsloe Wormsloe is a Georgia State Park. As stated on the park’s website: “The stunning live oak lined avenue beckons visitors to Wormsloe State Historic Site, whose abundant cultural and natural resources have been, and continue to be, shaped by the influences of the many inhabitants of the Isle of Hope through the centuries including those of Native American, African, and European descent.” It’s fascinating to learn that 9 generations of the original owner still live at the site! https://gosouthsavannah.com/things-to-do/nature-and-outdoors/wormsloe.html Most photos of Savannah feature the oak lined avenue on which over 400 of these massive and majestic trees were planted in the 1890’s. We opted to walk from the welcome center to the muesuem which was about a mile and a half. You can feel the sense of historical significance as you take in the stunning scenery. It is definitely recommended that anyone visiting Savannah find the time to visit this park.
