We are happy to say we have survived our first Savannah area tropical storm. Hurricane Debbie blew through our area this past Monday as a tropical depression and heralded 3 straight days of rain! Thankfully, there wasn’t any high winds to pose a threat to all of the trees on our property. Our cabinet fabricator returned on Wednesday, August 8th to add the mechanism for the touch to open doors and the appliance panels. What a difference it has made! They also removed the protective platic sheeting that covered everything and it’s amazing how glossy they are. We were holding the doors open with painters tape (without much success I’m afraid!). Our kitchen now looks very stylish and I’m happy with how it’s turned out. The only misstep is the Fisher and Paykel fridge. Panel ready refrigerators, while stylish asthetically, sacrifice storage capacity to achieve the look. We are most definitely going to need a back up refrigerator for the garage. This afternoon we go to close on our loan and officially close the construction phase of our adventure. It’s been a long road, but we are thrilled with the result!
Debby is gone!
